According to Barrington Police Office Robert McNamee, Barrington is one the safest places to live in the Northwest Suburbs.  
Barrington is so safe, that among law enforcement officials the town is nicknamed "Boreington" because of the very low crime rate  
and the benign nature of crimes that are committed.

related crimes are extremely rare in Barrington, you can never be too careful especially in this post 9/11 era.   It turns out that
fastest growing crime in the area is identity theft.  

The Home Owners Association is taking a proactive stance in improving neighborhood safety and establishing a neighborhood
